My Journey with Triple-Negative Breast Cancer and the Power of Cold Cap Therapy

In October 2021, I was diagnosed with triple-negative breast cancer (TNBC), a particularly aggressive form of breast cancer . Throughout my treatment, I was fortunate to have the unwavering support of my family and friends. Their encouragement, combined with the expertise of an exceptional oncology team, played a pivotal role in my recovery.

During this challenging period, I became acutely aware of the blessings in my life—especially the options available to assist me through treatment. One such option was cold cap therapy, a method designed to reduce hair loss during chemotherapy .

Despite some skepticism from medical professionals regarding its efficacy, particularly with aggressive chemotherapy regimens, I was determined to preserve my hair. I chose to utilize cold cap therapy throughout all 16 of my treatments. To my delight, it proved effective. My oncologist was so impressed by the results that she has since become an advocate for offering this option to her patients.

Motivated by my experience, I established Phoebe Handmade to support others facing similar battles. Our mission is to provide financial assistance for cold cap therapy to cancer patients who might otherwise be unable to afford it. I firmly believe in the effectiveness of this therapy and hope to make it accessible to all, regardless of financial circumstances.
